We don’t take enough care when creating new passwords. This is the announcement from the Center of Cyber Security, who recently published a new password-guide for IT users.
In the guide, the Center of Cyber Security highlights various actions which can increase the security of passwords. One of the most effective, is the two-factor-login.
The two-factor-login notably increases the security of passwords. This is why HR-ON not only offers it, but also strongly recommends that their customers activate it on both HR-ON Recruit and HR-ON Staff.
How to create a strong password
Besides the two-factor-login, there are some general steps you can take, to choose a secure password.
The Center of Cyber Security offers the following advice:
- The more important the login, the stronger the password should be
- It is far more important to have a long password than a complex one
- Use different passwords for different logins
- Think about the option of using a password manager to keep a log of your passwords
