4 STEPS TO MAKE A DIVERSITY QUESTIONNAIRE FOR YOUR BUSINESS
Here are Birgitte Baadegaard’s four tips on how to make a questionnaire that can help you to find out the level of diversity in your company:
- Target : The questionnaire should target a representative sample of the department or company. You can have the employees respond in ‘chunks’.
- Practical : Recipients must know the purpose of the study. The questionnaire must be anonymous and you should be able to sort in terms of, for example, gender, level of experience, ethnicity, work function (leader or not), etc.
- The Business: How much do employees know about the business and what do they think of it? Use key words to define leadership style and communication, for example; caring, authoritarian, informal, formal, etc.
- Diversity / variety: How do you experience diversity being expressed in the company, and is there a focus on it?
Once you have received the responses, it is important to be transparent with the results. You must be ready and motivated to act on any critical points which may become visible.
